I had a Randall RH200 a couple years ago, did you ever have a problem with it when you have it turned up halfway or above? What happened with mine was if I had it loud for too long it would get really hot (even though its solid state) and it would make this rhythmic popping noise, like a helicopter....

I play an old assed 5150 head through the 5150 cab, but I'm thinking about getting a new cabinet instead. I like the tone I have because it's warm, kind of raw/70's-ish, and still has good crunch and more than enough distortion than I'll ever use. But I'm thinking about getting a new cab, because th...

Re: 1st Run in Cowboys From Hell Solo
Hey guys, Brand new here, and it won't let me start my own topic, so I'm using this one. On the first run in the CFH solo (the 11-12-15 going up each string), does Dimebag alternate pick or is he hammering on each time? I think he's hammering on but I'm not sure. Thanks! He alternate picks the firs...

For that song I think they were actually tuned halfway between Eb and E.SuicideNote wrote:That would make sense since Pantera are detuned at least a half step on the album. I liked the harsh vox, they're so difficult to do and be able to speak afterward.
Also, I think a few of the riffs were a little off.

hey make nice guitars. I played a hellraiser a few months ago and it was tits. Warhead Dime owns a C7 and loves it. Fact! It's a pretty cool guitar. It's a fairly small body so you end up having to put a little bit more bass in the EQ of your amp, but it has good tone. It sounds great clean and has...

Drumkit From Hell 2
I got this a while ago and never got around to using it until now. I have Sonar Cakewalk Pro 4 for my recording software and I insterted DFH into it through the synth track, like I was told to do a while back. In all honesty, I have no idea what to do now or how to actually start making the drum tra...

Yeah. There's pretty much no avoiding that. The only people that can really get away with it are people who play Jackson RR's because it's such a commonly used guitar (or Les Pauls too I guess but I don't really count that). However, it wouldn't seem like much of a coincidence to most. Dime is my fa...

If you're playing super technical stuff constantly and your fingers are flying around the fretboard the whole time, there is no room to let any note sustain and resonate with people. How do you make a note sound beautiful if it only lasted a fraction of a second. There are few people that can actual...

Playing with feel is something you can't teach. It's little nuances that pop out and spontaneous things that you do when you play that make up what feeling is. Speed, ability and technical proficiency is just a result of practice, determination and sometimes a bit of genetics which is still respecta...

Re: Technique or Feel (emotion) which do you prefer?
I honestly like to mix both. While it is fun to do some flash over the fretboard, I think feel connects overall more. Besides, today I think a lot of players think the only way to catch the audience is by shredding. Some people may think this as blasphemy but I think the opening solo in Mississisip...
