Looking for a new one, want it to have a floyd rose (or like one) and shit. I would get a dime st pro if I could, but those aren't common on e-bay in the least. So in light of that I am wondering what you assholes think I should get, let it be noted that I do not want to spend more than 1 grand.
Let me beat some of you to the first replies.

Or just learn how to use vibrato. Divebombing is overdone anyway.
Izzy: do you realize how broad "environmental science" is?
Izzy: it's like going to school for history
Izzy: well, more useful than that
Izzy: but an expert on the civil war won't know jackshit on uhh
Izzy: something that isnt the civil war

I have always been a standard bridge dude, but I dunno, I just wanna try one out. I have never liked them in the past because you use them once and they are instantly out of tune, but I plan on taking this one to a tech and getting everything setup before I use it.

I was looking at a Schecter Hellraiser when I was looking for my last guitar. I probably would have bought it if I didn't buy a guitar off my cousin instead. It's got an original floyd rose too, which I don't think I've ever seen in that same price range.

bah, floyds are the shit.. if you plan on changing your tunings frequently, then yeah, it can get be a bitch, but other than that if you get a guitar with a decent floyd and locking system, you dont have to worry about it going out of tune every time you use the thing. Of course, if you're gonna be diving and raising her like crazy, it's prone to go out of tune.

exactly...
anyway, asking "what guitar should i buy" is stupid... Go to the shop and try the shit out! buy what suits you most...
i personally like jumbo frets, thin necks, floyd rose, mahagony, so my pick would be an ibanez S ( wich i got :P )...
I have wanted a flying V, but you can't play the sons of bitches sitting down.
was just gonna say this. i love my V, but it sucks for that reason. i need to get another guitar to play sitting down. i cant play my V with it between my legs
Cruise shops for a nice used guitar, re-mod the damn thing. I bought a down and out Carvin DC127C for $150 with horrible finish damage, destroyed pickups, flaking electronics...replaced them with Gibson PAF's, the Floyd was in pretty good condition, refinished the guitar, bought the electronic parts from a computer shop selling pots and switches, re-wired it...plays better than anything Carvin puts out stock, and cost me about $200 for parts. So, for a guitar that would cost $900+, I re-built it into something much better and with greater sustain and better looks...
$395 shipping and all, I was going to get a EC-1000, but I already have a Gibson Les Paul Custom, so I wanted something with a floyd and a different shape, plus, I wasnt wanting to spend more than 1k, so with the extra I will buy some more gear.
I like the color, especially the color of the body/neck contrast; but one thing that bugs me is the fucking huge cavity for the bridge and electronics.
The backplates join together which leads me to believe it's one giant shared cavity for both of them, and I'd imagine that isn't doing much for your sustain.
Other than that it looks pretty nice.
