what they did is each band member wrote down a random word on a piece of paper and threw it into a hat. they then pulled the words out and made titles out of them.

have you noticed how many words pantera album titles have in them? well, when there's 4 of them, all members' words were used. but sometimes a member *cough* phil *cough* heroin, couldn't show up for the album naming meeting so only 3 words were used. hope that answered your question.

you're all wrong. it's actually pope john paul 2. he used to be a big fan of pantera back in the day, he said in an interview the first time he saw them was in 88 when they released power metal and thought: "wow, these guys rock! it's like cowboys music but they're so evil they must come from no other place then hell!" the band saw that interview and decided to name their next album cowboys from hell. from then on they hired him as the one who comes up with the album titles and always refered to him as 'the bad ass pope from hell'.

Maybe..... but as a huge fan of THE EXORCIST i know that regan says in a part "it would be a vulgar display of power".. so, I don't have the correct answer, but if phil came up with the idea, so he must have taken it from the film.

vinnie paul of course. he was the one who wrote most of pantera's lyrics, even though phil takes all the credit, and was probably the biggest reason for pantera getting heavier. he was into alot of underground black and death metal.
