The only thing I found is that the amp would over heat and this weird rhythmic popping sound (almost like a helicopter noise) would go on and you would have to turn the amp off and let it cool off. Pretty gay
yeah, the exact same thing happens to my rh200. Gayness Supremo.
Sounds like clipped signal.
Causes the speakers to produce square waves rather than curved ones.
Result of too little power trying to push speakers that need more. Pushing the amp too hard.
If it sounds like a helicopter, it could be because it operates at 50-60hz.

Harmony Central and the Dean forums might give good review's about that line, but the fact of the matter is, they probably only ran a few hundred of them, and discontinued it. Then all the sudden they came up with the Valve Dynamic, so I think they were attempting to fix problems from that earlier line. But regardless of what anyone says- $700 for a head and 4x12's isnt too bad...It just all depends on what you think of the tone. Im thinking about throwing a Duncan SH-6 humbucker in my ESP for shits and grins. Their stock pickups suck.

What were the stocks ? Mines were HZ-H4'S but apparently they've changed them to esp liscenced ones now.

I never said it was a bad sounding amp. I think it gets some pretty good tones. However, that helicopter thing is pretty bad

Surely a decent noise reduction unit would deal with that though?

Nope. I have a Rocktron Hush Super C. It cuts out feedback and tightens up your sound, but it never got rid of the hellicopter noise.

Weird. Like I said I'm sure I'll find out when I get it.

Even though you never played through one?

This thread seems on par with someone going on the BLS board and posting "Look guys, I just bought a leather vest and a Vespa!"

I've played Randall heads before and they all sounded good, I've gigged using someones Randall combo and even that was good, so I went out on a hunch with a good deal and got it. Also thats kind of retarded, Darrell didnt even use this particular head.
