Yeah this. They pick waaay too many bands that only a dozen people seem to have heard of. That'd be fine as long as they did like last year and get a bunch of awesome, well known, DEATH METAL headliner bands.

yeah really. bands like CoC, Exhorder, Kylesa, Goatsnake, Neurosis, Orange Goblin, while they may or may not be good, have no business at this festival.

Who the hell would want to go to a festival with nothing but death metal bands? I hope they change the name to Maryland Metalfest and keep the variety.

I don't mind the occasional out of genre band, but this year it seems like the only death metal bands there are these extremely obscure bands that most people have never heard of. Last year was great as they had some classic DM acts like Obituary, Entombed, Pestilence, Gorguts, Autopsy. Hell just ONE of those bands coming back this year would make it 10x better. This fest looks like shit this year.

I don't know if anyone's actually going but the club it's located at, Sonar Lounge, has been shut down. Damn shame because it was a great place for it. I'm not sure of any better place in Baltimore for it.

Damn that sucks. That place was actually located pretty well, or so I thought. The overpass above the parking lot provided great shade from the hot ass sun. However, I'm not going this year, I thought I was, but a few people I was going with either aren't going or still unsure. I have that week off from work so who knows...but, I doubt it.

It looks like pure ass. Too much grindcore and other odd genres at for something called a deathfest. They should just call it a grindfest because that's basically what it's turning into.

Okay apparently Sonar has resolved whatever issue caused them to close down and they're back open and the fest is still on at the same place. That's very cool because it means I can go see Neurosis for free by standing outside in the parking lot
