Looking into picking up a beginner guitar.
Looking into picking up a beginner guitar.
I've been told Ibanez and Jackson are great beginner guitars because of the narrow necks but I was out in guitar center look'n arounda nd really liked the feel of the Dime-O-Flage Dean guitar.
I'm looking to spend around 300 bucks tops so the price is right. I'm told by friends who play that it'd be a good guitar to start with, is there anything I should know about it that might turn me off at a 299 price tag?

Get an Ibanez. Best bang for your buck.
Are you factoring an amp into this $300?

Okay, an Ibanez guitar and Crate practice amp and still money left over for cords, strings, and a sixer.M0oN wrote:No, in total I'll be blowing around 600-700 I think.Pfl?yd wrote:Get an Ibanez. Best bang for your buck.

Was fortunate enough to find a SL1 soloist in near mint condition for 500 so I went with that, guitar feels real nice, going to bring it to a friend to have him give it a professional tuning.
Guess I'll have to wait for another paycheck to pick up everything else to go along with it hehe, for a 2006 model I couldn't turn down that price, though.

I'll post pics of it next week, it's at a friends house getting work done. There are minor scratches on the back of the guitar and a small chip at the base of the body, nothing into the wood and no cracks, though.

Wear and tear is pretty cool on guitars. It gives them character. Guitars are resilient and if they're well made they won't have their sound or playablility fucked up easily.M0oN wrote:I'll post pics of it next week, it's at a friends house getting work done.
