AMORPHIS's new album, "Silent Waters", is scheduled for release on August 29 (Finland)/August 31 (other countries). Like its predecessor "Eclipse", the new CD will be thematically based on an episode from Finland's national epic, the "Kalevala".

"Silent Waters" was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, Finland. Mixing duties were handled by Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS) at Finnvox studios.

I wonder what this one will sound like considering the diversity of the sound on their previous records. I hope it's like Eclipse.

well since they are getting the material from the Kalevala, then I'm going to assume it will be progressive melodic metal with a folk influence like their previous album. but maybe, just maybe, it will sound like isthmus
