Yeah...so...
Yeah so I feel like a dick because I accidentally posted my response...in its own topic. I'm an asshole. Anywho! As I said in the other thingy, I like marimbas, I think they add cool low-end ambient texture to a piece. But my dream would be to have an authentic grand Chickering. It's really not going to happen, but I played an 18th century Chickering and it had beautiful tone for its age. Hopefully, it's not completely destroyed because it happens to reside on the Rosedown Plantation in New Orleans. So! Chickering is my dream, but a black grand Baldwin is my goal. Of course...in my tiny ass house I have no idea where to put it!

I'm planning on buying a four-string Jazz Bass I think. I play a five mostly, but I really want to strip it down a bit.

A 5-string fretless bass, hopefully. I want to try something completely different.
Kevin James derp de derp. Derp de derpity derpee derp. Until one day aderp aderp aderp. Derp de derp, ta teetley tum. From the creators of Der, and Tum Ta Tittaly Tum Ta Too, Kevin James is Da Derp Dee Derp Da Teetley Derpee Derpee Dumb. Rated PG-13.
Are you going for a lined fretless or a completely blank one? Blank ones look a lot cooler but they're a LOT harder to play if you play, especially in a band with any amount of volume.Maelstrom wrote:A 5-string fretless bass, hopefully. I want to try something completely different.

It still has the dots on the side of the neck. A good trick for playing shows with one is to take glow-in-the-dark paint and putting dabs on the those dots so you can see them onstage.

Just picked up a
.
Sounds better than any practice amp I've ever had. The clean channel is amazing and the drive is loud enough to gig with. Both channels hold up at high volumes without too much feedback.
The Reverb is god awful tin can garbage though. Picked up a Digi-Reverb pedal later. Needs delay and a pinch of chorus. Recipe? METAL.

It's fucking hard. I used to have a banjo and could never master the fucker. I play fingerstyle pretty well, but not with those little metal claws.UNGODLIKE wrote:i've always wanted to learn how to play a banjo
