i wanna get one to use on some of my black metal stuff

I used one on a black/doom metal ditty I recorded. It sounded pretty grim.

It's not metal, but check out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by The Firm, it's a good example of fretless integrated into a familiar song, and done quite well (oh, and it's Jimmy Page on guitar)

hard to explain. sort of a volume swell but this is more natural. barely pluck the string and it vibrates and builds up into a huge rumbling assault of grimness. but that's only one aspect of the fretless bass. the whole sound is just very different and refreshing.hippy wrote:dan i don't know what those sounds mean
