i've been talking to a music store for a few days and they agreed for a trade in. so im trading in my bc rich nj beast + $300 for a shecter C7 hellraiser http://www.schecterguitars.com/spec.asp?id=27#
it has a emg 707 active set. the pickups are in bass housing so i don't think i can change them if i wanted to
That looks like a pretty decent guitar. I have a mahogany Ibanez 7-string with a hard-tail bridge and it's the only guitar I own now. It takes a little adjustment but now I can't play a regular six-string without it feeling like a toy.

i was looking at a baritone or a 7 string. but the baritone strings are hard to find around here.
i was using the beast for downtuning but the floating bridge is too much of a hassel for jaming.

Hardly a "phase". I've had mine for years. I don't have it to play "heavy" because I really don't care for heavy music. I like being able to pull out piano-style chords on the thing and cool inversions.

i have seen some awesome 7 string players, Steve Vai rules, 11 string basses look interesting.

Yeah, I hate that shit, what's the point if you only use three strings? Just tune down.
I tune mine to outrageous open tunings and use traditional chord grips to play weird chords.

I play a 6 string detuned two and a half steps with the low string dropped to A. I love tuning down like that because we play a lot of single note riffs, but I miss having the higher range for leads. I've been seriously considering trying a 7 string, but I can't afford to at this point.

I've had one since September. It's an awesome guitar.

Oh my god... I have that in black, but have NEVER seen in it with that finish. That's fucking beautiful.....
My next step is to get a 7 string with a floyd on it.
I have an LTD H-207 in transparent black, I'd like to replace the pickups with some SD 7-string Customs or Invaders, but it's a killer player with great tonal possibilities with the right pickups...

policeman: are you alright? Rainbow Randolph: I'm a little fucked up in general, so it's kind of hard to gauge!
Korn sounds like shit. I almost use no bass on the seven at all. No need to.
