reccomend me a good acoustic guitar
I'm looking for solid wood top and back, medium sized acoustic. My budget is 450. I cannot spend any more. I'm leaning towards an Ibanez. Help a nigga out.

i only know because the guy up the road from me sells guitars, and he bought about 50 of these rejects a while ago. i played one and it was pretty good, but i havent bought it yet because ive got an acoustic guitar and im not sure if its worth doing.croninburg wrote:Where might I get my hands on such a guitar?DBS wrote:why not get a factory reject model. they are about 10% of the price and all thats wrong with them is small bumps and scratches. i'm buying a decent hohner for about £15.

this is something I have def. thought about, but the reason for me buying an acoustic is my 3 guitar center gift cards, from past birthdays and this recent xmas, in total i have about 150 dollars credit.DBS wrote:why not get a factory reject model. they are about 10% of the price and all thats wrong with them is small bumps and scratches. i'm buying a decent hohner for about £15.

i dunno man. I'm in debt 3 grand and I'm only planning on spending 250 of my own cash on the guitar itself. Like I said, 450 is my limit, but that's with the gift cards. In all honesty though, I'm only looking for something decent to last me 2 years. By then I plan on having a real job and replacing all my shit with top of the line gear.

you don't pick a guitar....a guitar picks you....(I know , profound bullshit)
But honestly....I went to my locall GC looking to buy an acoustic bass....
money was not a factor, I couls afford what ever I wanted.
it went down like this...I played everything in the room.
Tacoma....nice but didn't project well...
Gibson...they had 2...one was ok but not worth the $$$
the other was very fret buzzy
Fender....played 3 of them...all were very tinny sounding, no boom
Martin and Taylor....lol..If I'm gonna pay 3 to 4 G's for a bass...there
better be a hole in the back to put my shlong
into that is lined with velvet and it should make
make coffee too!!!!
Ovation....I liked them, but the one I wanted was pretty dinged up, and
honestly, they are over priced for there quality....
So....where did it go from there....a $450.00 black Ibanez.
It has tons more tone than basses 4 times the price. It was more comfortable...and it had a built in tuner!!! (not really nessessary but a bonus none the less)
Ok...here's the lesson....I stopped in at a Sam Ash with friend and said hey....look!...that my exact same bass....but $40.00 cheaper!!!!!
I went over picked it up....the action was blech, the sound was flat, and it seemed to lack the playabilty of the one bought. I know setup is important...but when purchasing an acoustic to don't have as many setup options as you would with an electric guiatr/bass....
so again....all the advice don't mean jack ...you gotta go out and play them....and let the guitar pick you.
(side note....if there are 10 identicle guitars in a rack, play them all.
I guarentee 1 will out play the rest....)

that was a heart wrenching story, but I never implied that I was going to purchase whatever anyone here told me to, nor am I going into this with a clear idea of what guitar I want(although I would prefer an Ibanez as well). I'm just looking for ideas here since i'm a noob in the acoustic guitar game.

After reading this thread, I arrived at the same conclusion.BassPhemy wrote:
You'd have to be just stupid, or something, I don't know what... if you did not give my American Legacy guitar package at least a try. When you get a load of that solid spruce wood, the same exact wood used on my personal guitar that cost me over $15,000 dollars, you'll be in absolute heaven, mark my words. I'm talking major sperm stainage on the pants, chief. I'll throw in a couple paper towels.
