After some opinions

Post by whitemike »

I am thinking of buying myself this guitar:

Image

It's an Ibanez RGT220H with the following spec:

* 5pc Wizard Maple/Wenge neck-thruPrestige
* Mahogany wing body
* Jumbo frets
* Edge Pro bridge
* DiMarzio® IBZ-N (H) neck pu
* DiMarzio® IBZ-B (H) bridge pu

Sounds nice, and I can get a really good price on it because a mate works in the local Ibanez dealership and can get massive discounts. Just wondered if anyone had played them before or had any thoughts on the RGT series.

Try the American Legacy axe.

good guitar but you're probably going to want to change those pickups.

Looks nice. Pickups should be more than fine untill you want and have money for new ones. But i bet its a killer axe right off the shelf.

I have an RGT42DX. Apart from a few minor differences, the specs are very similar.

I really like mine, plays & sounds great.
I may change the pickups, though - Mine came with Ibanez Infinities. They're good but slightly muddy, your DiMarzio's will most likely be better.

Definitely go for it!

Ibanez RGT's :tup:

P.s. Just out of interest, how much are you paying for it?
If you could ask your friend how much he can pickup an RGT42DX for I'd much appreciate it - Wouldn't mind knowing how much I've been ripped :lol:

For that, I'd be paying around £800. not sure what that is in dollars though. I'd have to wait and see to change the pickups, but if they sound different from the Ibanez QMs in my other Ibanez but still sound good I'd keep em, I don't want two guitars sounding the exact same. Wouldn't mind some difference, but we shall see!

I will probably end up goin for it, just I am selling my Washburn 333 which I have upgraded as I can't be arsed with it anymore, sounds alright though, just dont wanna be playing someone else's "thing", rather build my own sound etc. So I shall have some more cash to splash.

Here's the Washburn play: (I just got a new digicam :D )
