Those "starter guitars" tend to be more counterproductive than anything. They sound limp, usually play like shit because of lousy fretwork, and is essentially not upgradeable.Biohazard wrote:can you tell me why it is shit?
IF you are serious about learning guitar, save your money for an RG like everyone is suggesting. You can actually play gigs with that guitar and you can swap out the pick-ups down the road to improve on it. They play well too.
People who buy Wal-Mart or Best Buy guitars are usually parents who are humoring their kids because they think their kid will play it for three months and then put it in the closet. Of course, their parents are doing them a disservice because a kid playing on a shitty instrument is not going to be inspired to get better at it.

i have a epiphone gibson sg....to play metal?...i'd say there are probably better options out there. its alright for me..although to be honest over the next year or three i wouldnt mind seeking an alternative..
not saying the guitar is shit..a gibson would obviously be better than an epiphone model..but in terms of sound etc..yeah i think the other people around here might know best..
