Audio arranging software

Post by long4theblur »

Okay, next step. I've recorded the parts onto a card that goes into the USB port in my computer, I send them to my computer. Right now I'm using a program called Audacity to arrange them, but I get the feeling there's a way better program that I'm missing out on (that's free).

Go.

Anything's free if you look on p2p networks etc.

I can pretty much garauntee every one is going to follow me up in this thread saying Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools etc.

If your just starting out, you want something simple, effective & easy to get to grips with.

I highly recommend FA Soft's N-Track Studio (It's very cheap, the demo's free & works great, or you can just download it from a p2p).
It's an excellant bit of a software.
I'm still using it 2 years down the line & havn't looked back.. Still does everything I need it to do!

It sounds like all you want to do is import .wav/.mp3 files & shuffle the around a bit...
Simple & effective brah

Basically stuff you do in Pro Tools, but I can't find a pirated version.

I'm downloading Cubase and something called Cool Edit. I tried Pro Tools, but A) it was only a trial version, and B) it wouldn't even start up for me because I didn't have the Digidesign hardware it wanted.

Cool Edit is good. I recorded my albums with it. It can pretty much do what Pro-Tools does for the layman. If you want to get into really advanced editing (which you shouldn't if you are any kind of real musician) then you're pretty much out of luck.
