i just bought a mark IV short head off ebay. I know you can rackmount these things so i decided to throw all my shit into a rack. what is needed to rack these up and how many spaces will it need.
Like S said, plan ahead.I suggest you buy yourself a economy grade rack, something that will get the job done for now.If you plan on getting quite a bit of rackmount gear get a rack from 8-12 unit spaces.
When you finally get all of your gear, and think you will be sticking with that much rack spaces, then buy a nice ATA rack. Also, extra rack space is nice to have in case you want to add on in the future.
They also make rack drawers to put anything you would like to carry in your rack...tools,picks and strings, and its a nice thing to know that your cables are inside your rack drawer.
I have an skb 12 space ive been using for 3 years ive just now built it up where I have 1 space left..- its not bad to plan ahead, but dont go overboard or you'll have a half empty rack, and it looks kinda tacky.
i'm not planning on using much for rackmount gear than I already have. I have a BBE 362, shure wireless, furman power conditioner, thinking about getting a tuner and a drawer like wrona said, and i'm putting my head in the rack as well. so does anybody know the best/proper way to rackmount the mark IV?

i'll ask again: does anybody know how to rackmount a short head. I know it can be done. Do you just stick it in the rack, do you need rackmount screws, do you need to buy a rackmountable cable for the head, etc.

you need to put the screw brackets so that they correspond with the holes on the unit your putting in the rack, i think for a single rack unit its every other hole.
