Depends, I make almost all of my stuff. From raw materials to inlay, and spraying my own finishes to making my own pickups and capacitors. If you could do all that stuff then sure. But how would we judge the winner?

paste this link into your browser to download 1.2 gigs of luthier books and shit, i already had alot of it, but theres a rediculous amount of information there... i also learn alot at the builder forum on sevenstring.org and project guitar
i started these a long time ago but didnt have the tools to move on.. i got shit now i can. i scrapped the mahogany necks i made before and am making 5 piece flamemaple and purpleheart.. i still have to cut the purple stripes.. and another body, out of zebrawood. the otherones are cocobolo and purpleheart.. the guitars are going to be 6 string fanned fret multiscale between 25.5 and 27 inch scale, the " bass" is going to be a 5 string baritone 29-31.5 scale..
Sky Black about to be in here like "yo them guitars look mad gay dawg."

false. You can do a scarf either way, with the way you pictured the fretboard is glued on as extra support, the way I do it you put a face plate on the head stock for support of the joint.
Either way is acceptable, I prefer to do it where I add a face plate because you get to add a little decoration to it and it helps cover up the lines of where you glue the ears on, it just looks cleaner.

I really like this design. Looks cool to me. Do you make templates? I'd suggest getting MDF and making templates before embarking on the build, you can get a router and table with some pattern bits and make the build go much more quick and easy.
Only criticism, which really isn't a criticism of you, is that I don't like laminate necks. They just look generic and cheap to me.
P.S. always wear a respirator when working with cocobolo, it is very toxic and irritating.
