I just found out Obituary is now touring as a 4-piece. No lead guitar.
Also, their set will consist entirely of songs from their first three albums.
Got tickets to the san francisco show later this month.
Don't know any of the other bands. Could be interesting

Re: Obituary tour: old songs set
I saw Obituary about 4 years ago with Bigval. He left because they were playing too loud.
Suns out, guns out!

Good show.
No guitar solos. Didn't miss them.
Went with a pretty date. That's prbably how we somehow accidentally were on the roped-off backstage portion of the balcony directly over the band. I stood next to the singer while the drummer did his drum solo part of the set.
All old school songs. First 3 albums. 5 songs off The End Complete!
But they still had to do the drum solo part - which on one hand is embarassingly dorky, but on the other hand, that's what's so good about it.
Fat old guy on bass did a good job.
Strangely, before the set, I was watching people back stage posing for pictures with Kirk Hammet. His leather jacket was very lady-like next to the sheer brutalness of that damn obituary guitarist's beard.
Saw opener, Broken Hope. Boring, but fun to watch the crowd.
Lots of gnarly guys and a surprising number of girls. I got some surprise looks from people. Maybe because I was wearing green instead of black.
It was my 6th time to see Obituary and one of the best by far. I felt transported back to 1992.
We drove home blasting the new Ariel Pink album. It was awesome.

This band should really call it a day. When you have to fall back on "only old material" tours then it is time to throw in the proverbial towel.
