Jefferino wrote:Yeah, thats a pretty bottom of the barrell amp if you ask me....right down there with the Warhead full stack...
so the full stack is better than a half stack or maybe a 2x12 and the warhead amp? maybe even the warhead combo? because the more speakers you have the better it is!

Well as far as a practice situation where you have drums blaring in your face, yeah more speakers help, unless your in a live situation where they just mic your cabs, you could be playing through a 1x12
since your going to take me out of context anyway...yeah more speakers are funner, and louder, if you want to be a an idiot and play through a dinky combo amp...be my guest.
and whats your fav amp fag? lemme guess.....Marshall? marshalls suck bloated dead man balls.

I think a lot of bands use too much distortion and ruin any chance that we'd understand what they were playing.

I second this..
Live & in the studio, people with no idea seem to crank the gain out of their amps for the sake of it... that's when things get messy and the guitars lack clarity.
I always use as little gain on my distortion tone as I can get away with Just enough to keep the sustain I need & to pump out nice harmonic squeels
InfernalEmpire wrote:Get yourself an old 5150 block letter and crank the bitch. You'll hate your Line 6 then.
im sure i will and i know i will. ive played a Triple XXX and it destroyed my Line 6.

XXX's are badass as well. If I didn't have my 5150 I'd pick one of those up.
oh nice you got a block letter?
i found such a great deal with my halfstack. It's from the very first year they were made (1991). It is in almost perfect condition. He also rebiased the tubes before he sent it to me. Got it for only 750$.

Yeah, mine's an old block letter as well and it fucking destroys. I paid 700 for mine on Ebay, but just for the head, didn't come with a cab so you got a killer deal. My tubes were also rebiased and replaced with JJ's, but the outer covering is a little banged up from the dude gigging with it I guess. Works perfectly fine though, so no complaints here.
