MIDI question
Is there some sort of hardware I can buy to connect a MIDI DIN plug to a computer? I would like to be able to read MIDI messages in real time

PCI Audio/MIDI interface. I recommend the M Audio Delta 1010LT

The only external MIDI devices I use are a Lexicon USB Audio Interface and an 88 key M Audio USB MIDI controller, so I don't need any of those converter boxes.
If you have a keyboard you wanted to use as a controller that didn't have a USB out on it, those MIDI sport things come in handy.
