my elbow hurts when i pick really fast, how can i stop this from happening?

Practice slow and build your speed up so that you can play fast without any tension. Otherwise you're asking for tendonitis

unlearn using your arm and make it an exclusive wrist movement for picking. because more distance= more effort, and time it takes to pick. keep your palm lightly rested on the bridge when not palm muting, and of course, lightly rested on the strings when palm muting.

Good advise. I use to play the opposite of this and my elbow would kill me after playing many 16th notes. I had to stop. and relearn how to hold the pick correctly and pick with my wrist. you have to start slow

Using your elbow is a common mistake. The one thing I can say about myself is that I am a really fast picker. Its all in the wrist man. Your elbow really shouldnt move at all.

Hold the pick with your thumb and forefinger, let the remaining three just hang, like you're doing the "OK" sign.
