so....they were supposed to play here last night with some other bands, in fact they were at the venue for hours before and during the show, they got free food, some free beer and their minuscule $250 guarantee. there were 4 bands total playing and right after the second band got off the stage, they apparently decided to high tail it out of there and drive off because "they were not pleased with the turn out". now, don't get me wrong, the turn out was pretty bad due to bad promotion more than anything, but there was at least 100 or so people there, many of whom would have more than likely spent money on merch as well. but, they never even bothered to set up their merch table. so I don't know what their fucking deal was, but fuck vital remains. this was very unprofessional of them and the venue had to give everyone 1/2 their money back because of this lame shit.
oh and Lycanthropy who played also was fucking sick.
actually, I do. I was at the same venue tonight to see another show and was talking to the owner about the blunder.
basically what happened in addition to what has already been said, is that the band was not pleased with the turn out and the 60% of door that was agreed upon was later changed to 100% to make up for it. then the band complained that the stage was too small for the drums. (bullshit, I just saw Kylesa play there and they have two drummers). instead of setting up and playing a fucking show, they took the money and ran (and they did, I was helping another band unload outside and saw them in their stupid suv and trailer peel out of the parking lot. so again, fuck them.
What kind of dumbass promoter pays up the guarantee before the end of the show?

You're right, they should've set up their merch stand, sold some t-shirts and CDs, then fucked off home.
wonder what hotel they were parked in front of? how come no one was watching the trailer, or sleeping in the van? you would think as often as this happens, couldnt ONE roadie or bandmember stand watch?????????????

All this makes me feel lucky that I actually got to see them. But they are assholes so I don't know how I feel. I am glad they got their shit stolen from them.
