Bass strings
Bass strings
i just traded my oscar schmidt for a peavey millenium 5 string.
it's in great shape but the paint job is kinda tacky. I'll post pics in abit.
Now what i want to know is if these strings i bought in a rush are any good.
Ernie Ball power slinky roundwound custom gauge. 50-70-85-105-135.
are these strings worth a hoot or what? ill be playing heavy stuff.

Their bass strings are pretty decent. The guitar strings DO seem to wear out kind of fast but I used to boil the bass strings when they deadened.mo0sE wrote:i always used to think ernie balls were complete shit because they never lasted long on my guitar, it's been a long time since i bought them though so they might of stepped up their game.
Now I just use Elixirs because they sound good from start to finish.

I have mine down a full step, and the only thing I had to do was adjust the neck a little.. no heighth adjustment at all.. what kind of bass are you using?slay wrote:guys in order to have a bass downtuned to a 1/2 step down is it normal to have the action set really high to keep fret buzz away from the first 3 frets?
or am i doing something wrong?
and yes i have adjusted the neck so the neck is straight.
peavey millenium. Pretty much an entry level bass, also probably the reason i cant get rid of the fretbuzz.False_Prophet wrote:I have mine down a full step, and the only thing I had to do was adjust the neck a little.. no heighth adjustment at all.. what kind of bass are you using?slay wrote:guys in order to have a bass downtuned to a 1/2 step down is it normal to have the action set really high to keep fret buzz away from the first 3 frets?
