Superjoint came the closest to replicating some of Pantera's thrashy sounds. But it ended up sounding trashy.

New bands that sound like Pantera? Everyone tries too hard to sound 'heavy' it just sounds fake and cheap.

We're nothing like pantera, however they were massive inspiration to me personnally (especially the early stuff) and we've been told you can here slight influence in our music.

Anyhow, we do a cover medley of Panteras Heresy and Metallica's Seek & Destroy..... funnily enough we call it "Heresy & Destroy".

The problem exists in fashion, haircuts, body piercings and image over substance for most of the detritus that floods the "metal" market these days. Pantera were at the right place at the right time. Metallica was big, but Pantera started to hit around the time the "Black Album" came out. Pantera was the alternative â€” a shitkicking, take-no-prisoners band with a great guitar player, a singer who though he was Henry Rollins for a bit, and they weren't ashamed to be from the south.

I can hardly listen to any new bands at all. Most of the crap that is featured in butt wiping rags like "Revolver," is fucking awful.

The new blueprint for metal "success."

1. Wear tight black jeans and those dumb big things in your ears.
2. Scream your head off because that is what everyone does.
3. Make sure at least one band member has full sleeve tats.
4. Rail against injustice, the world, society, your mom, your lawyer.
5. Make sure you flood your signal chain with mindless electronics and use a gay assed pointed-stick baritone guitar, most likely detuned.

If you are looking for a new Pantera, forget it. Go see Down instead.
