Anyone here ever have a custom guitar made?
I just ordered one from this dude, 2150.00. Gonna take 3 - 6 months.
Wondering if anyone ever had a custom one done, how did a handmade one compare to the current cnc machine ones everyone is turning out?

It was a custom shape guitar that I came up with a while ago, along with a custom headstock. It's lame to show the templates so ill just show everyone the guitar when I get it.
Anyway, I chose a mahogany body and neck, with a spalted maple top on the body and headstock. Ebony fretboard with 24 frets and block inlays. 24.75 scale
Gold Seymour Duncan JB and 59' in the bridge and neck. All gold hardware. one volume one tone knob with toggle switch.
Tone Pros tunomatic bridge with grover locking tuners.
Creme binding all around. Oil finish.
heres an idea of what spalted maple looks like if you dont know.

I could never justify doing it. I'm not much of a gearhead anyway and I think the instrument is little more than an intermediary for me. As long as it stays in tune and plays fairly easily, that's all I really care about.
