I have a Jazz and a Stiletto. Very different instruments really. Sometimes its good to have an "orthodox" bass like a Fender because everyone knows what to expect. I play some roots-rock and Americana type of sideman gigs and the Fender is indispensable. That vintage sound is unmistakable.Kellan wrote:I merely said that because Schecter aren't "pieces of shit."Pfl?yd wrote:I have both and love both. I'm so torn!Kellan wrote:Schecter > Fender
It's not that Fender makes bad guitars but they're so god damned orthodox.
In those groups where I'm a more creative force in the band as a whole, the modern sound of a Schecter is great. I wouldn't be able to play tight, electronic synth-bass type of lines or high-speed two-hands-on-the-fretboard flurries with the Fender; it's just too round and thumpy.
I love them both though. You can't go wrong with either one.
