Dime Distortion or MT-2
Dime Distortion or MT-2
They seem about the same to me. Don't have the metal zone anymore So I can't compare Except for the badass glow-in-the-dark decals on the MXR-RiP DiME

just dont do so in the name of rock and roll coz then you have to buy another one and bludgeon yourself with it

Well I once owned the MT-2 and it sucked so much fat ass it really wasn't funny. So I flogged it to some poor fucker for a bit more than I payed for it. Sucka.
I've not tried the Dime Distortion yet, but I would like to. Although I get an awesome distortion through my setup so it'd just be for shits and giggles yo.

bullshit, my MT-2 sounds AWESOME on my buddies 80's model Laney AOR Series 50W all tube head, and it made my 1972 Marshall 100W Superlead a BEAST!Kellan wrote:the MT-2 sounds killer on a solid state practice amp, but don't even think about putting it into a tube amp or any sort of combo
it'll sound like shit
i have the rocktron "zombie" rectified distortion pedal. it's made specifically for tube amps i guess.
with an eq it sounds great i think

all i can say is dont get a boss mega distortion
i regret buying one every day, i mean you can get some good sounds from it, but when your gigging with it it makes WAY to much noise man
And i dont have the money for a silencer unit yet

the 5150 is no longer in production as EVH has copy rights to those #'s. therefore the 6505 is replacing it even though it's the same ampAlabamaRedneck wrote:What in the blue hell are you talking about?eris wrote:The number has changed to 6505.AlabamaRedneck wrote:Not bad, better than my crap amp. The standard story is that the block letter models are the best sounding. I've played a newer one and it sounded ok to me. Never played an old one so I can't say personally. But every review you read, people trash the newer ones and say they like the old ones better. I've also heard that the clean channel is really shitty on the old ones though. They say it's not even really clean at all. So I don't know. I know for sure though that Rob used the old block logo on TTAOE and the tone on Imperium rules.Metallash wrote:its the same circuitry nigguh just different name cos EVH has the name copyrighted.AlabamaRedneck wrote:I wouldn't buy a new one, I'd buy the old one. i bought the boss mt-2 when they first came out.. it was aight
forget what i did wit it.. probably sold it for crank coin
why not just get a v-amp or pod and get many more sounds for alittle more cash if not less.. i reckon you can get the v-amp2 cheap these days.. great unit for the price.. its an amp modeler with lots of effects
