The Spawn album had some cool tracks, but other than both having an electronic vibe, I don't hear many similarities.

For the most part I suppose. Not really into electronica at all.
You know my favorite bass part of all time? The one Rex does behind Dimebag during the "floods" solo. Awesome shit.

I like more of the sinister-sounding electronic music or something that has an atmospheric vibe. I really enjoy when electronics are combined with live instruments in interesting ways. My last couple of projects (and my current one) were experiments in doing this. My electronic-jam band was short-lived, but I'm happy doing what I do now.

As for the Floods thing, that was pretty much the only time Rex actually stepped out of just doing unison riff shit and actually did something.

I enjoyed his stuff more in Down than in Pantera.

I probably couldn't even write a good electronica tune. I have absolutely no idea of technical aspects of music.

In spite of the popular misconception that states "Digital instruments aren't real and require no talent", electronic music is more difficult to produce and requires far more technical knowledge about music theory. Guitars, on the other hand, are set up so any idiot can play them. Having studied and played many different kinds of music, I have to say in all honesty that Metal is by far the easiest style to write and play.

You can't do what I do, but I can do what you do and have already proven it. If you don't bring proof, you can't bring comments and my assumption that I'm better than you is 100% fact.

In fact, no one has EVER heard any of the music you make at all. I think it's safe to guess that you're sitting in your basement bedroom, thumping away on a 2nd hand Rickenbacker, fantasizing about being dubbed "the next Cliff Burton" when you're nothing but the next hack to argue his baseless, uneducated points on a message board.

Hey, my Rickenbacker was brand new, may it rest in peace in some pawn shop somewhere in Alabama.

And I'd rather be in my room thumping on my bass than listening to this music while wearing a tin foil hat and pretending I'm a robot.

I'm not saying I'm good at anything, I'm just tired of reading "what you do is easy" and "what I do is extremely difficult. Please shower me with the the praise and respect I think I deserve. I can't form a band because I hate humans (on and on and on with this introvert bullshit) so I make music with computers because I desperately want to be called an artist by someone other than myself."

You're so full of yourself it's unbelieveable.

Also, I assume that's some music making program. I'll mess with it tomorrow because I want to see how useful my extensive knowledge of music theory will be when I make "beep boop boop beep thump boom snick chicka".

So your music is harder to write and perform than a jazz-influenced progressive metal band with 24/55.75 time signatures?

No. The only thing I ever said is that to me, what I make is harder than Metal, and furthermore, ANYTHING I've ever tried to play is harder than Metal. It just doesn't agree with BassPhemy's Metalfag Fanboy sentiment when I say that Metal is the easiest style of music to play. But it is. A hippie drum circle has more talent in it than a Metal band. Metal is, musically, the lowest form of life on the planet.

not really. you're just using a blanket preconception of metalheads and applying it to us saying 'you wont like it because you're close-minded.' i listen to and appreciate a LOT of music, but what you have created is dire. i play guitar to a standard slightly below what might be considered average, but i don't prefix every song i play in front of someone with the statement 'oh if you don't think i'm any good i'm actually a lot more talented than most pop stars.' that's all you're doing. your songs are the emperor's new clothes of music.

I think a lot of people also overlook the difference between composition and performance.

No type of music is generally harder to play than another.

Also, this "win/fail" stuff is GAY.
