Re: Maryland Deathfest IX
At this time last year they'd added a bunch of big names to the bill and it was already decided that it would be awesome. From September on, it seemed like most of the bands they added were just filler bands. Right now, if I go to this at all it'll just be to see Neurosis, and I don't like them enou...

I've been checking out a lot of these bands recently, and they suck horribly. Also, why is there so much fucking grindcore at a death metal festival? I know they can have their similarities, but grindcore and death metal are still pretty different. Mainly, grindcore sucks and death metal is pretty c...

Ah okay, just checking. I also imagine with a natural finish, it's easier to have a guitar repainted down the line, should I ever decide to do so. A lot of reviews of that RG321 say it's a good "project" guitar to have.

I don't know why I included the distorted comment considering I'm sure I'll be playing clean plenty of times, too. I'm leaning towards the mahogany, I always liked the warmer tones.

Is there really that much of a difference in sound quality among different types of wood? Especially when playing heavy/distorted guitar? I'm in the market for a new a guitar and I've narrowed my choices down to two. The main difference between the two (outside of the pickups, which I'd likely repla...

Maybe it's not a gimmick but it's still a stupid idea. The whole time I watched them (maybe half their setlist), they were only playing different drum lines once.

 Isis kicked ass last night, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with their setlist. They played a LOT of songs from their last two albums.
