Is there any way to improve my left thumb's endurance? I play only about an hour a day at the most and it hurts like a motherfucker when I play any song longer than three minutes. I hate that. Does it magically get rock hard after thousands of hours of practice or what? I try not to press it against...

A 5-string fretless bass, hopefully. I want to try something completely different. Are you going for a lined fretless or a completely blank one? Blank ones look a lot cooler but they're a LOT harder to play if you play, especially in a band with any amount of volume. A lined one, I'm not THAT good :x
