production / instrument changes

Post by onetwothreefour »

is the change in sound of dime's guitar between power metal and CFH a production thing or did he actually change the kind of guitar he played?

and along those lines, is that shrill, piercing sound when dime hits high notes on RTS just bad production? vinnie's snare also sounds a lot sharper.

Well im sure the Dime and the band grew with technology. I still don't think V&D should have self produced RTS though.

NO- It sounds awesome, dont get me wrong...I just think if they would've focused more on writing the material, insted of twisting knobs...it might've been more of a 'classic' Pantera album, like TGSTK or FBD

Dime played Jazz guitar when he was in high school.

You should have heard him then.
