actually most people who play fast have to have rythm. they practice with a metronome which helps keep their time. which creates rythm.

edit- i now understand it. you dont have to awnser my question.

if he is 8, thats great for him, he is technically proficient.

however, i noticed that he holds his own well when he is going too fast to have to sit on a note and just needs to pass it. but as soon as he tried letting a note ring out it sounded like ass. which goes to show that all he is capable of doing is speed, the kid is all method and no feeling.

and i know someone is going to retaliate with some "oh come on, hes 8 years old man!! lets see your vidz plz2u k thx!! OMGOMGOMG". im not saying that the kid isn't amazing for how old he is, i just dont think age is that much of an excuse. youre a bad guitarist if youre a bad guitarist, regardless of what age. and this kid is good at playing fast, but i wouldnt call him a good guitarist (also because i havent heard his own material really).

Technical skill doesn't sound good unless you learn it along with writing and playing along with shit like everybody else. A guy who becomes advanced over 20 years will sound 100 times better than someone who became advanced over 2 years. There's no way he's had enough time to develop his own style and emotion while practicing that stuff at only 8 years old. Let's hear him play "Walk". It would probably sound like shit.

Oh and just because he's technically skilled doesn't mean he can write for shit.

That was the most boring solo I've ever heard in my life. Kid's got skills, hopefully someday he can actually learn to write something that sounds halfway decent
