Traded my Road worn 57 reissue P bass for these 2 at the Great American Guitar Show

Epi Thunderbird Pro, darkburst, neck thru and active pick ups & hsc...plays and sounds great!!!

Epi Les Paul Bass, flame top and set neck, gig bag. Plays well but is a bit "plunky" sounding.
I'm going to put a set of DR Hi Beams on it today to see if it brightens it up a bit.

I want that blue fender that's behind you on the right.

Flame maple is just a veneer, not thick enough to affect tone at all. The plunky sound is due to the basswood or mahogany body it is made with.

That is true, but a set of strings really did make a difference. I think the ones on it were the original and were dead as hell.

It's a mahogany body. I'm using it in my acoustic project, fits the sound well.
