Okay, well I actually designed this when the steelers were losing the superbowl. I have a flying V shape, but I also like les pauls, so I combined a les paul, a telecaster, and a PRS, and designed my own headstock.
Image

Then I cut it all out.
Image

And started on the body and the neck.
Image

And here is the body to this point now awaiting a top carve and a neck pocket cutout.

And here is the neck next to it's template.

Cool dude  I really like the headstock on that, it looks badass.

Looks like someone with very little imagination ripped off and made even gayer a PRS headstock. Body looks great, headstock should follow the curve/contour of the bottom "horn" kind of like an upward swept reverse headstock type of thing.

Prs headstock is actually a ripoff of a Gibson headstock, not that you're expected to know that. I'm sorry you don't have even as little imagination and design ability as I do to make and put up something of your own.

Well I'm not going to argue about who first ripped off which headstock that you in turn ripped off, and while I don't know how to build guitars, I don't think that precludes me from expressing my opinion on a guitar's design. The body looks very cool and it's just a shame that the headstock is so gay, that's all I was saying.

And all I'm saying is anytime you want to design and build your own stuff, I'd be glad to see it.

Ok, and all I am saying is that, until then, and forevermore, YOUR design of THAT headstock is GAY.

I honestly dont think you really dislike it. I think you're trying to get my attention, and im sure others will join in on your bandwagon to talk shit, but truth is, if you saw one hanging in a store, you'd play it.

If I saw that in a store and it looked like a quality guitar, which would depend on several factors like neck-thru, binding, pickup array, fretboard wood etc. I definitely would play it. A gay headstock is not a dealbreaker by any means.

Like I said, I dont think you dislike the headstock, I think you just want something to pick at and are latching onto that.
Binding is cheap as fuck, neck thru guitars have shown almost no gains in sustain or tone, I doubt you have any idea which fretboard woods produce which tones outside of reading it on the internet. Try again.

Yeah because I'm not your friend and I just want to talk shit about any and everything you do.
I don't really care about what wood offers which tonal property because I use heavy processing, but I like the feel of an ebony fretboard, and my fingers slippin and sliding over neck binding. As far as neck-thru, I didn't say I thought it gave any gains in sustain or tone (though I question what data you have that "shows" no difference), just that I considered it a sign of quality.

Yeah man everyone is just gunning for you to post a thread in the musicians corner which 7 people read and are waiting for one brave soul like me to cast the first stone so they can all jump on the gay headstock bandwagon.

Because every guitar made has a different headstock, they never repeat or use similar designs. Great logic jeb

Essentially. Seeing as how someone started out saying they liked it.

If I was a guitar luither, I would want to swtich up the style of headstocks on my guitars. I'm not saying it's a shitty design, it actually looks pretty cool, but considering that you own three PRS guitars and a custom flying v that all have a similar headstock, you should have came up with something that stands out more from those guitars.

It does look a little like a washburn idol, but not completely, and really doesnt look much like the second one you posted. Also, headstocks rule.

A real guitar player doesn't use headstocks or even strings. Good music emanates from the soul.

is this thing finished yet? I want to see it, asshat or not, JJ builds nice guitars...

at least he not taking that Las Vegas plagiarizer's route of taking other manufacturer's guitars and customizing them to put his own name on them...

No, haven't even gotten past where I was at, I actually need to head out and pick up my new templates (I suck at routing neck pockets the way I like so I had new templates water jetted). I'm also working on a couple of other projects, but I have a compressed radial nerve right now and my left hand is acting screwy. :(
