The U.S. edition of the touring rock festival featuring the "Big Four" of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX — will take place on Saturday, April 23 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Commented METALLICA: "You've probably heard us all say it . . . the vibe was just so incredible at last year's 'Big Four' shows that we can't stop now!! So we're finally bringing the love to our home turf on April 23, 2011 with 'TALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH, and ANTHRAX in Indio, California at the Empire Polo Club (yes, the more observant of you will note that this is the same spot where the Coachella festival takes place the weekend before).
"It's true — this is indeed the only scheduled stop in America this go around, so we're hoping that you can head West to join us. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 28 at 10 a.m. PST
seems like just 1 gig, but it's worth all the travel

This looks real boring... There's too many badass concerts coming up in the next few months.
2/18 Eyehategod
2/19 Immortal
4/28 Down
4/30 Down
And I'm probably going to that Helmet, St Vitus, Crowbar show

My buddy is into cheesy shows like that....he went to the movie theatre to watch the simulcast thing.
It was all fucked up and he ended up arguing with the manager.
"Deeeewwwwd.....there's all 4 bands up there playing Am I Evil!!!!!!!!!!!"
Who cares.

I'd go see it if it were 20 years ago, which it isn't.

Hopefully they'll bring it to Australia so I can not go. I'm still hurtin over paying 20 bucks for St Anger, and attempting to listen to United Abominations which I wasted a perfectly good blank CD on.

It may seem gay to you, but imagine the accountants telling them to do this and they don't, fuck, they could make millions, they must have their reasons.

You used to live in El Centro, right? I drove past there recently and it looked like a dump!

I'm pretty sure they will tour the U.S. at some point even if it is like a 6-8 city gig. I'll probably wait until it hits the East Coast somewhere. I could do it if they hit either Chicago, NYC or Detroit.

It is a fucking dump. I hated being stationed there. Nothing to do but drink.

I ain't going to see this shit. I don't care for any of those bands enough to go see them. I don't need to be in a stadium filled with a bunch of loud mouthed jerkoffs chanting "slayer" and "metal-lica!!!" No thanks.

Megadeth put on one of the beat shows I've seen. I've seen slayer once they were terrible. I haven't seen the other two. When metallica come to town they sell out in .5 seconds so I've never seen them

Anthrax - 2.5/5
Megadeth - 2/5
Slayer - 4/5
Metallica - 5/5
I though Metallica would have a hard time following Slayer, they were excellent.. but holy shit they blew the place apart.
Setlist:
1. Hit the Lights
2. Master of Puppets
3. The Shortest Straw
4. Seek & Destroy
5. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
6. Ride the Lightning
7. The Memory Remains
8. All Nightmare Long
9. Sad But True
10. The Call of Ktulu
11. One
12. For Whom the Bell Tolls
13. Blackened
14. Fade to Black
15. Enter Sandman
Encore
16. Am I Evil? (w/ Megadeth & Anthrax)
17. Damage, Inc.
18. Creeping Death
Seeing them open with Hit the Lights was, as Bodom J would say, the best thing ever.

let me bump this thread and say that Megadeth was 1/5, who the hells likes this band? probably the worst shit i've ever seen.
Ofourse the weren't the worst act of live music i've ever seen but considering i thought it would atleast be decent, it was the worst shit i've ever seen.
