				Trouble finding a guitar.

Just tried out an Ibanez Rgt4dx today, wasn't quite what I was expecting from it. The action seemed a bit high and I had trouble with palm muting and trying various picking techniques so my playing didn't seem so sloppy at first. But I couldn't get used to the feel of the guitar at all. Plus the floyd rose whammy bar wasn't meant to go crazy on it since it fucks up the bridge and strings so I had to be careful with it. The amp I was using didn't have much distortion too and I didn't wanna be adjusting everything just so that I can get a heavier sound when playing.
Apparently the Ibanez I used wasn't meant for rythme playing for some sort of reason. I'm more used to playing my Epiphone Les Paul and Washburn ML. I'm not sure whether to upgrade to a Gibson Les Paul or be a Hetfield wannabe and go for an Explorer. Some friends said I should try out LTD/ESP guitars if I want to play heavy stuff. I personally wanna try a Jackson king V since I'm a Mustaine fan and want to play like him, plus most of the guitars I want to buy have a neck through body.
Someone recommend me a good guitar with a price range under $1,300.

The Jackson I posted has double locking features for the floyd so the strings and bridge don't get damaged. Plus Im getting an Orange amp including the line head for it so im sure it can handle it.

Jebbo...I have this guitar....a 2005. I can't play for shit but it's a decent, inexpensive guitar.

Haha a big guy like bar rat playing a dinky that cracks me up, great guitar though. I just bought a NJ deluxe warlock brand new for $650, pretty solid deal.

I didn't factor in my size when choosing the guitar. I literally walked into a Guitar Center on a whim and 10 minutes later walked out with the guitar. I always wanted a metal guitar after years of a beat up Les Paul Studio. I played it last night...my amp started acting up and I quit.

The only thing I really don't like is that the tone control knob is too close to the bridge and strings. My hand hits it while picking. Other than that, it's solid. I hadn't played it in over 2 months and when I picked it up, it was still in perfect tune.

yeah I remember after playing my friends for a long time I would have to make sure my volume was maxed cause my pinkie would hit the knob sometimes.
