He's recorded some cool clicks and beeps with it though. I heard Moby was looking to use some of his shit on his next album.

Cover songs are stupid- Unless you have nail it perfectly or recreate it in a fashion that really kicks ass...
I also think they're a way for bands to pretty much draw attention to themselves, like at a local show- some band covered Cemetary Gates, butchered it to shit! But they just wanted the whole club to go "hey it's a Pantera song!"
be a true musician and write your own songs, thats my advice.
