well theres some kind of clearcoat woodfiller that was under all the paint, its the same grain so its not a veneer, but im stuck on whether i should try sanding it all the way through it and risk digging wavy dips and shit into the wood. its a bitch trying to smooth it out and i always end up taking off way to much. im not sure how its going to take stain as it stands right now, i might end up just painting it instead

oh wait, are you looking at the binding? it was hidden under the 12 layers of paint

It just looked like you went through in a couple of spots by the edges. If there's no veneer then I don't know what I'm seeing. Cool guitar.

its white plastic binding on the top edge of the body, i was trying to be carefull not to fuck it up with the sander so i missed a few little spots..
