Jazz fusion is a combination (or "fusion..") of jazz and rock. As far as I understand, it usually features rock lead sounds on electric guitar as opposed to trumpet, sax, piano etc leads. I've heard Shawn Lane referred to as fusion..

A rather wide spanning of people but try Allan Holdsworth, Al Di Meola, Larry Carlton, Frank Gamble, John Scofield, John McLaughlin, and especially Bill Frisell.

what the fuck is rock??? name 3 bands that are rock but nothing else. im pretty sure rock is like a unicorn in the most badass magical way...............
