a video of me playing

you can't really see my picking hand technique, and I go out of time on a riff here and there, but this is pretty much what one of my songs is gonna sound like. it's just the guitar, but i wanted to put something online and do something with my music, even if it's just a shitty youtube video.

which leads me to ask, what are some good editing programs, and can anyone link me to one, along with a decent drum machine software and some metal drum samples?

here's the video, as of yet the song has no title.

pretty cool. Did you manage to downtune with your bridge or is it in standard? i cant tell by the recording.

i'm playing in standard E tuning. I just put a zippo behind the bridge and that locked it in pretty well, i still use the tremelo but only for tuning purposes. what'd you think of the song?

it's cool but the recording quality takes away from it, i have the same problem trying to record riffs using my laptops mic.

that's some hot shit fast hand! show me that shit at a slower tempo and i'd nail it note for note chord for chord... unfortunatly, i hardly know dick shit about editing/ and i'm not even gunna attempt to answer questions of offer suggestions. as far as experience goes; i'd use reason over fruity loops(any day) as far as simple shit midi drums go, it actually has some realistic sounding easy shit to use. i remember a (long) while back i was learning to record w/cubase...blah blah blah i dunno i dunno

but you got to admit, that's one hell of a video mic to be picking up the sound of the pick hitting strings though

how does the quality of the recording take away from what is being played? I didn't ask how the recording quality sounded, I know it doesn't sound like it came out of a fucking studio, I'm asking about the music overall, that was part of the reason I posted one of my songs, to get some critique and see what some actual metal fans thought of it

is that good or bad? I haven't really hard Celtic Frost much, so I don't know if this is a compliment on your end or what.

I might record another song, or a half a song tomorrow, just to show some of the other material I've been working on and what people can expect to hear.

I think with drums behind it, it'll bring out the sound I have envisioned in my head as well, plus when the vocals come to it, hopefully it'll sound like Eargazm and not anything else.

i'm not trying to be a prick i'm just saying it would be better if we were hearing the riffs from your amp and not you picking the strings.

i have a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter, i might plug my pedal directly into my computer and see how that sounds...most likely it'll sound like complete shit.

It's probably mostly the tone but I like CF alright.

Your riffs are decent. Don't take that the wrong way, I know like anyone else what you're playing is a masterpiece and you have it all mapped out in your head but when I or most other people hear it it's just a jumble of riffs played back to back.

i have a big muff pi and i play it through my bass amp, peavey tnt115.

BassPhemy, I know the riffs don't really synch into each other that well, hopefully the drums will help fill that void with transitions and shit like that.

anyone got links to editing software and a decent drum program!

when I do it, I turn my hand in more toward the neck, and when I pick up, I have my index finger's first knuckle touch the string just a tiny, tiny bit. A lot of people have said they've never seen, or heard a pinch harmonic picked with an upstroke. I guess I'm just SPESHUL

Very unoriginal. It would sound more Celtic Frost if it didn't sound so Six Feet Under.

It wasn't bad, very impressive improvement over the last one you posted  I closed it after trying to wipe that thing on your wall off my monitor 2 or 3 times though.
