NILE Announces 'Those Whom The Gods Detest' U.S. Tour - July 15, 2009

Masters of extreme technical death metal NILE are partnering up with longtime friends IMMOLATION and KRISIUN as well as ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and DREAMING DEAD for the first round of American tour dates in support of their new album, scheduled for worldwide release this fall on Nuclear Blast Records.

I saw Krisiun open up for Morbid Angel a few years ago. it was pretty bad. and I like their stuff.

This show was pretty cool. Nile's new(? he's new to me) singer looks like Tom Hanks with a shaved head and in between every song he says "This next song is called ___________...would you like to hear it????" as if we're going to say no.

Yeah the last time I saw them was probably 2003, I didn't know they had a new singer. I heard Karl Sanders is a massive dickhead, so it doesn't surprise me that someone would leave that band.

they've had a revolving door of members over the years.

dallas has been in the band since 2000 but he didn't take over vocals until Jon Vesano left.

i'm actually kind of mad i'll be missing this. their drummer George Kollias is worth the price of admission alone.

It's hard for me to appreciate them live. Their music is so fucking complex, it's hard to distinguish one song from the next. I was watching their bass player, I swear it looked like he was just hitting random notes his hands were moving around so fast. I can't even comprehend being able to play as fast as that dude did.

I guess if you stay on well maintained roads it wouldn't be so bad...though you'd still have to be careful. pretty sure nile hires a driver to drive their bus.
