As much as I wanted one, they were all pretty much mail order. While I guess they are awesome, I have this thing about buying before I feel/play it.
Anyway, I went a different direction and bought this yesterday...
2008 Lakland Skyline "Duck Dunn" signature series. (pronounced "Lake land...just found that out myself) Classic P bass sound with a Jazz bass neck for all you P bass neck haters (Brandon)

The weird thing I always wondered about was these builders who are basically trying to look like Fenders but cost MORE than a Fender. I mean, I understand cheapies trying to cop Fender styles, but high-end stuff?
Either way, A P with a Jazz neck would be kind of interesting. There are only like a handful of things I'd ever need a P sound on though. I should just get a cheap Squier P for those situations.

PFloyd, this really has a wider range of tone than my standard P bass has, which is one of the reasons I bought it. As far as price goes, the Skyline series go for 50.00 less than a USA P or J Standard (Paid $1049.00). My band is doing some Clash, Sex Pistols and 80's rock that I need a crisper twang sound that lacks with the P, the Lakland fits the bill nicely.

Why are you in here? You play no instrument. And since you are, allow me to add that we have a little unspoken rule here. We keep all of our bullshit from the other forums out of this one. Have a little respect.

It is true PA. Select few come in here and start shit, and they are usually turned away promptly.
