we got any home luthier's here?

i have tried nail polish and it doesn't blend well enough, nor does it set to well.

i have heard of using superglue and staining it the colour of the body then polishing it till it blends in well.

i know im being alittle anal here but this particular git isn't old enough to have battle scars.

you talking about the wax crayon type things?

If you have the right colour, crayon is great.

the crayons worked great on my cheap bass's neck but on my schecter the finish is shiny so those crayons dont work on it.

looks like im gonna have to have a pro look at it.. I hate leaving my guitar at shops.

it's actually kind of ugly in person but im hoping it will grow on me. Fixed bridge FTW

they explain easy ways to do this stuff and sell everything you will need to do it real cheap . also search the net for articles on repairing stained or painted wood and not just guitar stuff, wood finishing is wood finishing...

thanks for the links Ernie, i will check them out for sure.

I took it to one guy and he said it isn't worth going over. Then i emailed pics to another professional luthier and he said he can do it but it would cost about 150-200 bucks.

This is what i get for being a cheap ass buying a gig bag and taking my guitar with me on planes and to friends houses in the gig bag.

i would try that but i would be afraid of fucking things up even more.

From searching the net the best method is the drop fill method which you can see here http://www.frets.com/FRETSPages/Luthier ... pfill.html

the only problem is getting the laquer to blend in with the old existing paint.
