i was playing one just like that today. in the market for a new guitar and plan to spend around $1500. i'm thinking a real nice used PRS. only gripe is the extremely big chunk of wood towards the end of the neck.

List in the Fender dealer book was $1450, was talking to the music store owner this summer said he can give it to me for $1250.
Went back last week and I got him down to $1100.

You gotta spend at least 2k on a really nice used PRS. The ones at 1500 have a bunch of dings in them and shit. Unless you are after a singlecut. or don't care about getting the bird inlays. At least that has been my experience.

Idiots, you're not getting it. Quality matters, but not in this discussion.
Why is it so hard for you guys to get these things? I wasn't saying it never matters, it wasn't part of what I was saying. I never compared the quality of an SX to that.
jesus christ....you guys couldn't get any worse.

I don't really like the guitar case. you can't keep the strap on and put it in the case. theres a cutout of the guitar in the case, so it's in there pretty fucking snug.
small thing, but it's kind of annoying.
...heh strap on.

I prefer the soft cases, hard shell ones just weigh more! Better protection and less movement but at a trade off

I have a Fender soft shell case. It's currently housing my Ibanez. My uncle gave it to me yrs ago.
I just don't trust them around other people. Someone may step or drop something on it.

Soft cases are good for protecting the finish, and that's about it. If you're going to gig you should really invest in a hard case.

I tend to stand mine up which leads to inevitable falling. I broke the nut on my first cheap-o bass that way.

I have a guitar stand that holds the guitar by the headstock, but the fender wouldn't fit in it. It's too small, it could modify it (stand) but it's not worth the hassle.
