I'll definitely be going November 9th considering I live around the block from that venue and I get discount seats there for any event. Besides, I've always kind of wanted to see Metallica live since they play a lot of their old shit which is the only relevant Metallica I care to hear.

If I want. Students usually get discounts for events held at the Schottenstein as well as first chance to get the tickets since it's a University sponsored venue.

If the discount is decent and you're willing, I'd be interested in giving you the $$ to get some tickets for me. I'd imagine there's a good chance of Philcore doing some guest vocals on Metallica tunes

The discount thing isn't for sure because it usually depends on the event. They may not include this on our list of student discounts. However, buying it at the box office there=10-15 dollar difference so in a way I guess that's a discount. Let me know what you wanna do closer to the date and i'll go to the box office for your ticket so you don't end up paying ridiculous ticketmaster fees.

So either I go to the one in November with Down and drive 2 hours and 40 minutes OR I go to the one in January with Machine Head and drive 1 hour and 5 minutes...
What should I do, I am guessing 2 hours and 40 minutes

See the one in chicago. See down when they headline again. 30 minutes of down is not enough.
Machine Head are cool.

Not to say I don't like Machine Head, but I don't think disliking them would make anyone worthy of such a distinction.

There are few albums from recent years I'd actually consider "important", since there are such few bands that are actually doing anything to move metal forward. There's nothing important about anything Machine Head has done. If they were to suddenly be wiped from existence, it wouldn't be a particular loss to metal.

There's a huge difference between albums that are your personal favorites, and ones that are actually "important".
You have a lot to learn.
