Style your playing, bass your using, amp your using...these are all huge contributing factors on what settings to use.

Well if you're using a BASS guitar then obviously you want the BASS to be loud

well it depends of what you like, type of bass, amp....
if you play metal i would recommend to start with good highs and lows, and keep the mids on the middle. work it out from there, also use the bridge pickup on your bass.
