Now I know why my friends shitty Epi sg has better action than any other gibson i have ever played. This interview is very interesting. I makes me wish i knew everything about the sound of a electric guitar when played acousticly and more about frequencys and such when plugged in.

according to what was said on that link:quality of production(of american made Gibson guitars) has gone the way of econmic production value>attrition of expensive resources. the warm tone of a solid one piece mahagony axe will always surpass the cheapo maple neck version, but i still wouldn't mind goin' through a dozen LPs @ guitar center before settling w/a jackson or ibanez
