Unless you go to the Custom Shop, even then, I don't really want to put one of my Kidneys on the black market to get a '59 or '58 reissue.

Never was big on triple humbuckers deal, only thought it did well if it was P90's on a hollowbody or single coils in a strat. Still nice guitar and would love to play it.

I love the tone. Bulky guitars though. I like playing a Strat but i'm torn between the sound of both. The Les Paul standard is the best.

Its all about prefrence really, which body style and sound you like more. they are both equally great guitars IMO. i have one of the new hollowed out gibson les pauls, it plays and sounds great, and its like half the weight of a classic LP.

you could build a way better guitar than what gibson is putting out....they need to fire their quality control manager at the Nashville plant...i've had to send back 4 LPs in 2 weeks...each had a warped neck, so watch out or you could be buying an expensive piece of shit

james hetfield plays the explorer, so that means it sucks.

i wasn't looking to buy one, i was just checking them out.

if anyone hasn't heard of the gibson robot guitars. the guitar can do automatic tuning on it's own. you just set the knob and strum the string and the tuning keys adjust themselves!

I have always been a les paul fan along with sg. I let the other people use the explorers and flying v's.

I've owned both, and I prefer the LP, better tone and more comfortable...Explorer is too boomy sounding through any amp I've played on the same settings...
