Anyone own/used these supposed tone machines?
Opinions... Tube preferences... bitching and moaning, or praise... anything will help!!!

I've been looking at these units for a good year now after i got my ADA preamp and S.S. power amp... but it's time to get me a tube amp. I'm not the wealthiest man around, but from what i've heard so far they are pretty nice for the price.

I think i like 6l6's from fooling with various power amps... but if you have used this amp... let me know on the tube selection.

i never liked 6l6 tubes, but 12ax7 sound pretty good to my ears, but i think it kinda makes the cleans sound a little muddy

Dude, 6L6 is a power tube... 12ax7 is a preamp tube.

6l6 = power tubes
12ax7 = preamp

Actually, i couldn't be happier with this peavey.

I'd like to get another 4x12 though, that i'm going to have to a/b... Im running one channel in to a JCM 900 cab and like my behringer cabinet better

Is it one of the Jensen-loaded Behringers? Those things sound better than most mid-proced (and some expensive) cabs IMO.
