i'm starting this thread for posting album links for download. i'll post here regularly, but not too often, so you'd have time to download and listen to the stuff. most of the music will be newer Death/Thrash/Metal albums by known and not so known bands, but i might throw in something interesting once in a while. i'll try to not post anything shitty, but you know, can't please everyone.
i also take requests, as long as its not like "find these 20 albums for me". PM me if you need something.

everyone is welcome to post and add to the thread. anything metal/heavy goes but try to keep the mediocre stuff to a minimum.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS TO FILTER OUT BETTER MATERIAL FROM THE RIVER OF SHIT THAT'S BEEN FLOODING THE METAL COMMUNITY.
i realise that people have different musical taste but you will notice that some metal genres are not too popular around here (eg. nu-metal, deathcore, emo, screamo and similar). ambient/post-rock kind of stuff is acceptable.
if you feel that you have something to contribute to this thread - GREAT! there are however a couple of things you should know.
1. please search the thread before you contribute or request something. A LOT of stuff has already been posted and reposts really aren't necessary. exceptions are when links for posted material are dead, or if you have an album in better bitrate than what's currently available. a tutorial on how to search the thread can be found HERE
2. please don't flood. it might be easy to post 50 albums in one go, but not so easy for others to sort through them. people are likely to be overwhelmed and lose interest when there's too much stuff on one page. band discographies are an exception.
3. when you make a contribution it is desirable that you add the following information to your link:
- album cover (use [img][/img] code and insert the pic's URL inside)
- band and album name + year of release + bitrate
- music genre
- country of origin
- band's MySpace (or similar) link - so that people can read info and listen to samples before downloading. (sometimes the links are really long, so to shorten them to something specific use the [url=]SHORT LINK HERE[/url] code. the actual URL is pasted after "=". just look at examples below to see how its done. Otherwise just post the link and it will show up as a hyperlink.)
- PASSWORDS! - some archives have passwords, make sure you post them with the link.
- any other info you feel like adding, such as: impressions in a few words (or emoticons  ), band members, tracklisting, some trivial stuff that matters.
preferred filehosters are: rapidshare, megaupload, mediafire, filefactory, axifile, sendspace, etc. filehosters like ifolder, uploadbox and uploading.com will not work for most people here, so please refrain from using them.
these are not rules, just guidelines for clarity and to make sure people notice and appreciate your posts.
below is an example of what a contribution may look like:

HOW TO UPLOAD FILES TO FILEHOSTERS
1.) Get a program like WinRAR or WinZip. Most people use WinRAR. If using WinRAR install and select all to associate all archive file types with the program.
2.) a) IF IN WINDOWS EXPLORER: Find the folder the album is in, right click on the folder, click “add to archive.” Then name the .rar file whatever you want, “Band Name – Album Name” is common. Usually make sure the file size is less than 100mb (this depends on what filehoster you upload). You can specify the size in the bottom left on the same screen where you can rename it. For example, if your folder is 150mb and you set the archive size to 100mb, then your archive will be split in 2 parts. something like part1 = 100mb, part 2 = 50mb.
b) IF IN WINRAR: You do the same exact thing.
3.) After getting your “.rar” files completed go to one of these sites:
www.megaupload.com (1gb upload limit)
www.rapidshare.com (200mb upload limit)
www.mediafire.com (100mb upload limit)
www.depositfiles.com (2gb upload limit)
www.filefactory.com (300mb upload limit)
There are others but these are the best. RapidShare is the most common hosting site, but the wait times turn some people off. MegaUpload and MediaFire are usually the preferred filehosters here, but it depends for everyone.
4.) There should be a button on each of their pages somewhere saying something like “upload” or “share.” For MediaFire its a good idea to make an account as you can keep track of the files you have uploaded. For Rapidshare you HAVE to make a free collector's account, otherwise your uploads will expire after just 10 downloads! If you're going to use other filehosters read the uploading rules/info on their sites to avoid confusion later.
5.) Now find the “.rar” files and upload them to the site………………wait for them to finish uploading……
6.) When that is done copy the link and read the posting guidelines above... again

That's a silly description, but it's very black metalish with progressive arrangements. The bass and drum work is incredible and the guitars have a Lifeson-with-corpsepaint vibe. It really has to be heard to be understood. It's very cool! |
