Song you like to warm up to?

Post by CFH Eternal »

If I don't wanna do a exercise I have always found Captain Beyond's "Raging River of Fear" or the first half of The Atomic Bitchwax's "Ain't Nobody Gonna Hang Me In My Home" gives both my bands a good workout.

I usually play some James Brown stuff or something with lots of octaves or 9ths. Gets my fingers sufficiently stretched out.

Isaac Albeniz - Asturias

classical finger picking song that starts out easy but goes into crazy stuff, and is fun to play.

Off the top of my head:

James Brown -- Funky President
Megadeth -- Five Magics
Rammstein -- Seeman

And a couple of tricky parts of songs I'll be playing before I hit the stage just to make sure I'm stretched.

I just run through a few scales a few times. Usually Major, Minor, and Blues.

I don't warm up to songs. I just stretch my arms, wrists, fingers and then rub my fingers to help get the blood flowing. After that probably some chromatic type stuff and trills with all fingers.
